Islamabad has more than 80 designated sectors in its master plan, although not all of them have been fully developed yet.
The city is organized into a grid of lettered zones such as D, E, F, G, H, and I, with numbered sectors. For example:
- F-6, F-7, F-8, F-10, F-11
- G-6, G-7, G-8, G-9, G-10, G-11, G-13
- E-7, E-11
- H-8, H-9, H-10, H-11
- I-8, I-9, I-10, I-11
Each sector is typically divided into four sub-sectors, such as F-7/1, F-7/2, F-7/3, and F-7/4.
So, in summary:
- Planned sectors: More than 80
- Fully developed and populated sectors: Around 50–60, with others still under development or reserved for future expansion.
